How products are scored

Every product gets an editorial score out of five based on build quality, usability (readability, dial feel, graduation clarity), value for money and how well it holds up with repeated use. Scores are our own judgement, not an average of customer reviews.

Specifications are taken from manufacturer listings. Prices change constantly, so we show broad bands rather than figures that would be wrong within a week.
