Syringe Gauge, Length and Dead Space Explained

Why a higher gauge number means a thinner needle, and how dead space quietly changes how much product you get through a pack.

Gauge runs backwards

Gauge measures how many needles fit in a fixed diameter, so a 32G needle is thinner than a 30G one. Thinner is generally more comfortable but moves viscous fluid more slowly.

Dead space is real money

Dead space is the volume left in the hub and needle after the plunger bottoms out. Across a hundred-count box, a low-dead-space design can noticeably reduce waste.

Read the graduations before you buy

Half-unit graduations only help if the print is legible. Faint or low-contrast scales are the most common complaint we see in reviews, and it is easy to check in listing photos.
