How click-counting calibration actually works
A reusable pen delivers a fixed volume per click — commonly 0.01 mL or 0.02 mL depending on the version. Your dose is a volume, so the conversion depends entirely on the concentration in the cartridge, which depends on how much diluent you added.
Change the diluent volume and every click changes meaning. Write the concentration on the cartridge label at fill time, every time, and confirm the click value for your specific pen version rather than assuming.
Where pre-filled pens are worth the premium
Pre-filled pens remove the conversion, the fill and the labelling. Three fewer steps is three fewer places to make a mistake.
If you are new to this, or your schedule is chaotic, that simplicity is worth paying for at least until the routine is automatic.
Verify your pen's click value before you rely on it
